ANNOUNCEMENTS for June 24, 2018 – 5th Sunday after Pentecost

Conversation Café and Potluck at SUC:  This Sunday, we welcome a special guest speaker to help us explore our faith in a different way, followed by a potluck.  The next conversation café will take place on June 24, with special guest Dawn Ferris.

BEER AND HYMNS:  Beer and Hymns will run throughout the summer on the last Sunday of the month at 7pm.  Coming next TONIGHT (June 24) – our theme will be “summer favourites”.  Don’t hesitate to pass on your hymn requests to the church office!

A “STEP UP” AT SUC:  We are seeking contributions towards a good quality light-weight stepladder to assist in our decorating of the sanctuary, along with regular maintenance of the church building.  Please be in touch with the church office for more information or mark “stepladder” on your offering envelope.

SPECIAL MUSIC AND SUMMER PAUSE AT UPPER SACKVILLE:   On June 24 we welcome special musical guests to Upper Sackville for our final service before our summer pause.  Tea, Coffee and Snacks will be available during a social time following the service.  Regular services will resume on the Sunday following Labour Day.

SUMMER SERVICES AND OFFICE HOURS AT SPC: Summer Services for the Pastoral Charge will be held at 10am at Sackville United.  The church office will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-12pm.  We look forward to seeing you!

OFFERING ENVELOPES AVAILABLE: Are you interested in having offering envelopes, or in receiving a charitable receipt for your contributions?  Please speak to the church office, or simply write your name and address and attach it to your contribution.

Counselling Services Available:  Would you or someone you know like to talk through a problem? Narrative Counselling offered by Rev. Robyn Brown-Hewitt is available on Thursdays in the Mt.A Chapel Office. To book an appointment contact:  rbrownhewitt@mta.ca.  Robyn is the UCC Campus Minister in the Multifaith Services Office of Dalhousie University. This year she is enrolled in the Master of Narrative Therapy & Community Work degree program through the University of Melbourne which requires that counselling practicum hours be completed every week. And so, in addition to counselling hours at Dal, she has also been offering counselling services to Mt. A students, staff and the wider community (with the agreement of Mt. A Chaplain, Rev. John Perkin) since the beginning of February 2018.

PAPER COPIES OF ONLINE MATERIALS:  For those who are not tech savvy or who do not own a computer, paper copies of Lloyd’s Monday Musings and other web-only material are available through the church office.

Prayers for the Community: Is there someone or something you would like held or lifted up in prayer this month?  Our prayer circle is ready to hear your concerns and joys and pray for them – please send your messages to Mora MacDonald at morabullydog@yahoo.ca.  All requests are kept in confidence among the group, who are always mindful of your privacy.
