Technically it is a day off - but I am working from home this morning trying to get a little ahead on the #30daysofgratitude posts.
The next to last day in the 30 Days of Gratitude is Saturday October 7th and the theme for this day is gratitude for the places we call home. Many of us over the Thanksgiving Weekend will be gathering with family and friends in our homes, feasting and creating memories together.
Do you have a photo of "the place you call home" that captures the sense of sanctuary and welcome that your home provides? Would you be willing to share it with me so that I can create a collage of the places we call home? Maybe it is the home your currently live in. a former home, or a vacation home where people gather only at special times of the year? Or, maybe it is a room in your home or a photo of a place where you have felt particularly at home?
Send your photo to lloydabruce@icloud.com by Thursday evening for inclusion in the collage which will be published on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.
Faithfully,
Lloyd
Looking Ahead
Other than doing some work on the #30daysofgratitude posts I will be enjoying the day with family and friends. Tuesday will be filled with meetings and pastoral visits.
Wednesday morning I will be in the office before taking Rasta to the groomer over lunch and then back at the Church for a meeting at 5:30PM followed by another meeting, the regular Grounding Meeting of the Executive at 6:30PM.
Thursday will be devoted to crafting the liturgy and reflection for Sunday and I expect some of Friday will be spent on these tasks as well. Saturday will be a day off and we are looking forward to having some of the kids home for a day or two!
On Sunday I look forward to gathering in community to mark the formal end of the 30 Days of Gratitude and encourage us, on Thanksgiving Sunday, to ground all that we do, each and every day, in gratitude. See you on Sunday at 11AM either in-person or via Facebook Live!
