This seventh week of thanksgiving brings us to the first week of Advent and we are so very thankful for this opportunity to begin a new liturgical year in hope.
We give thanks for all who gathered on Thursday evening to decorate the sanctuary for the season, for those who brought food, contributed decorations and stayed afterwards to clean up and then prepare the elements for communion on Sunday morning.
We are most grateful for the opportunity to share in a time of community: sharing stories and laughter as we worked together toward a common goal. It was such a delight to be able to see the fullness of each other as we removed our masks to eat. It has been so long since we've seen each other's smiles!
We are thankful as well for the many who have contributed countless hours to enhance our Advent and Christmas season - those who have planned, and those who have read stories and sang and played music, baked cookies and worked together in so many ways to make all these things available to the larger community. Pleas make sure that you visit the church webpage (ww.sackvilleunitedchurch.org) and make note of all the opportunities for you to engage and participate during the seasons of Advent and Christmas!
We have so very much to be thankful for!
May this season of hope, peace, joy and love lead us always to true meaning of Christmas... Jesus, love born in vulnerability and shared with with world.
